IT'S A GIRL!!!

Well...a lot has gone on since my last post :) ALL GREAT THINGS! Alex bought me a wonderful Valentine's Day gift, which was an early sonogram to find out the gender of our baby. The sonogram was wonderful and so relaxing. Her legs were crossed for about the first ten minutes of the sonogram and then her umbillcal cord was in the way, she was being a little stubborn. HAHA (well she is her mother's daughter) We had all of our friends and family take a guess at the gender, with an overwhelming guess of GIRL and some boy guesses as well. Alex and I also wrote down our guess on a piece of paper at home before we left the house we both wrote down "girl"! WE WERE RIGHT! IT'S A GIRL! Our 2 year old nephew Keegan also guessed "baby girl" several times, and never guessed baby boy. We are so excited about meeting our little girl in JULY!
She already has a quarter of a closet of clothes and we just found out 2 weeks ago! She is going to be a spoiled little one, but that's okay! :) We also ordered her crib on Saturday and we are excited to get her nursery together. We also get to see her again on Monday at my 20 week sonogram!
As far as names for her go we have 3 picked out that we reeeeaallly LOVE, so much that we have decided to take all 3 names to the hospital and decide when we meet her. We aren't giving up the names, because we don't want anyone to sway our decision in one way or the other. All 3 are very different from each other and all go very nicely with the middle name we have picked out. :)

I thought that I had been feeling her move at times when I am laying down, BUT I FOR SURE FELT HER TONIGHT while laying on my back, I felt her kick and/or punch a couple times though it was light and it felt like she did a flip once too! Which I would doubt, because we actually saw her completely roll over during our last sonogram though I could not feel it yet. She is definitely an active little thing ( I think we are going to have our hands full). IT was AMAZING to finally be able to feel her in there though! I love her so much and I haven't even met her yet :)

How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Surprisingly still have not gained, I'm sure I will soon enough. But, I think being so nauseous and eating better has actually balanced out with my baby weight causing me not to gain just yet. I also get full really easy and have to eat a lot of small meals.
Maternity clothes? As of recent YES! I don't have a huge belly, but my regular clothes don't fit!!
Stretch marks? Yes :( a couple small ones on my hips, and tatas :( Coco Buttering them up!
Sleep: Sleep is good, but I usually wake up 2 or 3 times to pee and change positions!!
Best moment this week: Buying a new car and her crib
Have you told family and friends: YES!
Movement: Yes, but not everyday and only when I am laying down.
Food cravings: Fruit, Sweets, Cookies, Milkshakes (funny coming from the person who didn't used to be much of a sweets or fruit person)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Soda (which I used to drink all the time before I was pregnant now I can hardly stand it) and Grilled Chicken really grosses me out right now as well.
Have you started to show yet: Just recently got the first pop out! Definitely pushed me right over the edge of some clothes that were still fitting, that are no longer fitting.
Leakage: No
Gender prediction: IT'S A GIRL!!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On

The New Year is here!

Well...not a whole lot has changed since my last update on here. Still feeling woozy at times and can't eat a whole lot (some days are better than others). But, this should be letting up very soon. (I hope)
We got to hear our little gummi bears heartbeat at our last appointment, but Alex could hear it better than I could since he was right down by my tummy. Hopefully I will be able to hear it better at our next doctor's visit...the visit after that we get to find out if it is a baby boy or girl! :) I don't have any feelings as to what our little munchkin is, which surprises me because I thought I would. But, I am soooo ready to find out if we get to buy pink or blue :)

•How far along?: 13 weeks
•Total weight gain: 2 lbs...I still haven't been able to eat much
•How big is baby?: About the size of a peach
•Maternity clothes?: Starting to need the maternity jeans...shirts are still way to big, but I'm sure I will grow into them.
•Stretch marks?: Not yet
•Sleep?: Sleeping is good...but I definitely have to get up to pee more often than before
•Best moment this week?: Possibly feeling the baby move :)
•Movement?: Well...I know it is supposed to be to early, but I drank a glass of orange juice and was laying on my side when I felt a little flutter, like a butterfly bouncing in my lower abdominal area. I told myself it wasn't the baby, and then realized I had the glass of juice and have read that can really make the baby very active. I looked this up some on the internet and have read that it is possible. Since this is my first pregnancy and I don't know what the movement feels like just yet. I guess I will know in a few more weeks when he or she does really start to move, I will let you know if it is the same feeling ;)
•Food cravings?: Fruit, especially pineapple and strawberries
•Belly button in or out?: in
•What I miss: Being able to eat whatever I wanted
•What I'm looking forward to: Finding out whether it is a boy or a girl in 7 weeks :)

Anything Sweet for a Christmas Treat :)

Since my last post we have found out that I'm not quite as far along as we thought (from an ultrasound), we have went from a due date of June 25th to July 23rd...and it could change again :)

We had our last doctors appointment on December 10th. We got to see our little gummi bear during our ultra sound, which determined how far along I was, however we could not hear the heartbeat yet (since I was not as far along as they thought). But, we do get to hear it at our next appointment at the beginning of January. Also, since I'm not as far along as they believed that I was, the nausea will be sticking around for a couple more weeks. :( I am mostly nauseous at night, it starts around 5 pm or so and doesn't go away until I go to sleep. Needless to say this makes it difficult to eat or cook anything, so we have been doing a lot of carry out/ordering out. I love to cook so I'm ready to feel a little better. One funny thing that has been different though is my appeal for sweets, I have never really been a big sweets person, but lately different story. :)

•How far along?: Almost 10 weeks
•Total weight gain: None yet..I haven't been able to eat much
•How big is baby?: About the size of a small plum
•Maternity clothes?: Sometimes I slip on the maternity jeans when not feeling so well, but are not absolutely necessary yet
•Stretch marks?: Not yet
•Sleep?: Sleeping like a baby for now...:)
•Best moment this week?: Alex's parents gave us a very generous gift to purchase our crib :)
•Movement?: A little to early for that
•Food cravings?: Sweets, Cinnamon rolls, ice cream...I also am a fan of cereal right now.
•Belly button in or out?: in
•What I miss: A drink every now and then
•What I'm looking forward to: Hearing the heartbeat at our next appointment :)

It all starts with the Gummi Bears...

Well...it all started on October 19th, 2009 when Aunt Flo didn't come to make here monthly visit. So, of course I went out and bought a pregnancy test wondering if this was really it, or if I was just running a day or two late. I took the test first thing the next morning and it was negative. Waiting a few more days (still know show of the Aunt) I took the other test in the box, still negative. Hmm...I guess I am just missing this cycle?

But, being the very impatient person that I am, I must have taken another 7-10 pregnancy tests over the next week and a half. ALL NEGATIVE! I was giving up on those tests and just figured I was having an off month. Another week and a half went by, I was about 3 weeks late at this point, and I hadn't taken anymore tests.

On that Tuesday of the 3rd week I started cramping on and off, I thought for sure I was going to start. Waited till Wednesday, still cramping. Thursday, still cramping (thinking when is my Aunt going to get here). Friday, still cramping and still NO Aunt Flo. On this same Thursday night that the cramping was going on I had some family over and my 2 year old nephew was running around our house when he walked up to the fireplace mantel where there are some pictures of Alex and I and other family and friends. My nephew looking up at the pictures started saying "baby, baby, baby". We all stopped and were like HUH? We also have a large clock above the mantel so we thought maybe he thought the clock made noise so we said "beep beep?". He said "noooo baby, baby". We went on about our night and I didn't think much of it, after all I was expecting my Aunt Flo any day now since I had been cramping so much. The very next day I saw my nephew again and he was carrying around my cell phone with a picture of Alex and I on it, he recognized Alex and I as he always does, and then again... the NEXT day... started saying "baby, baby". I asked Stephanie (my sister) if he had been saying that all day or just around me? She said, "just around me".

I started wondering and found it so weird that he was saying "baby" and that after cramping on and off for 4 days that Aunt Flo still wasn't here. I had another test at home and decided on the drive home that I was going to take it in the morning, figuring it was going to be negative but felt weird at the same time. That sucker was coming up positive while I was still peeing on it!!! NO KIDDING!!! I opened the door, told Alex. There was no way I was holding it in since it was a Saturday and we were both home! He didn't believe me! I told him to come look at the test on the counter, then I think he started to believe it a little more. I said "OH MY GOSH KEEGAN!" I had told Alex the day before what Keegan had said, we couldn't believe it! But he had to know... he just had too.

We took a couple more tests to confirm the pregnancy they were all positive within a minute, mostly because Alex was in disbelief. We went to the mall that day and while walking around, looking at some baby furniture and getting more excited about the our addition, we decided to tell our parents that weekend. We bought Alex's parents a personalized Christmas ornament with 3 name spots and had it personalized to say Alex, Sara and Baby. They were so surprised and happy :) We did the same for my parents, but also gave them a card in a Thanksgiving type envelope (since it was the week of Thanksgiving) and we wrote "boy or girl which will it be, in June or July, we will see :)" We did this because that is how my parents told their parents that they were expecting me, so I kept the tradition. They were surprised and happy as well!

We are very very excited about the new addition to our family. Currently, the cramping which the doctor has assured me is completely normal, has subsided. But I have moved into nauseousness, all day nauseousness. I pretty much have to force myself to eat. However I have craved a few things and seem to be able to eat what I have craved. My first craving was GUMMI BEARS (I haven't had gummi bears in years). But, since this was my first craving, we have decided to refer to Baby Sauerbrey as our Little Gummi Bear through the pregnancy, though we will announce the baby's gender we aren't sure if we are going to announce the name until he or she is here :) Check back frequently as I will be updating the blog periodically about my pregnancy. I promise it won't be as long next time. :o)
